Petrova took an interest in Electromagnetism in her younger years and has since used whatever small devices she has collected to record various digital signals in different areas and analyse them for hidden messages from ghost pokemon/unknown sources. Petrova's belief in ghostly phenomenons and the unexplained is so genuinely strong that she has outcast reality and the living and refuses to take part in it. Due to this, she has become extremely aloof and solitary, isolating herself in her studies for days on end. However, conversation with living beings is not completely out of the question for Petrova, but it may be for others. The girl is insufferably brash, saying whatever comes to mind with little conscience or concern for the other involved. Question her lifestyle or anything she holds dear and meaningful, and you are sure to receive a nasty earful. She has little patience for topics which do not concern her, nor does she easily empathise with others. She takes great care in her 'job', going above and beyond to achieve results, even if it means making impulsive or even dangerous decisions.

History
Petrova comes from the quaint and small Len Town, situated in the Johto region, somewhere between Azalea Town and Goldenrod City. There is literally nothing special about the town, nothing exciting or abnormal ever occurs here, despite the potential for something to go very wrong. You see, Len Town is surrounded by a forest inhabited mostly by Ghost-type Pokemon so many of the towns people own Ghost-effective types to ward off the tricks played on them frequently in the past. Due to this, people speak ill of the ghost types, regarding them as nuisance pests, and children are often told not to go near the forest at night. Petrova's parents are no different, and for some years, Petrova would help ward ghostly tricks from their house by detecting their incoming presence via radio waves, a skill taught to her by her Father.
One day, Petrova detected an unusual frequency on her radio. Her computer scan suddenly measured magnetic fields stronger than she had ever recorded, with unusual fluctuations that grew stronger and more aggressive, and in that moment....Petrova saw something.

As soon as it came, it left, and so did the radio signal. After that, she searched tirelessly for the frequency again, but nothing even came close to that power. She looked through books, the internet, she even visited Goldenrod Radio Tower but no one had ever experienced or even heard of such a reading. Naturally, no one believed what she had seen that night either. Petrova became obsessed with solving her mystery. She packed up all her equipment and decided to leave home in search for answers, certain that she'd get nowhere in a town who was fearful of Ghosts. Too bad she has little to no experience in fending for herself.
  
Extra information
- Although she is extremely embarrassed to admit this, Petrova can be rather air headed and clumsy at the best of times, a fault highly undesirable for a ghost hunter.
- She does not take care of herself (Does not sleep enough, does not eat properly, puts herself in dangerous situations)
- She is secretly in love with fluffy things, keep them away from her unless you want to see a side to her no sane person should witness.

Honedge was initially captured by Petrova's Father whilst on one of his expeditions through the Kalos Region. Truth be told, her Father does not detest Ghost types like his wife or his hometown, despite never saying otherwise. Or rather, he does not have a favourite type. Upon finding the rather interesting and new Pokemon of an odd colour, he decided to bring it home, but in the Pokeball it would stay until he would end up giving it to Petrova one day as a graduating present.

Affectionately nicknamed 'Meatballs' by him, Petrova's Father did not completely approve of loosing his daughter to the types, but decided she was best off with at least some sort of defense, knowing how air headed the girl could be. Meatballs takes his job as 'protector' perhaps a little too seriously, always alert and on the lookout for dangers the girl may face on her journey. He prefers to keep within the sheath, and likes to hang off Petrova's backpack.
