Ahnka is quite possibly the most spirited and lively girl you might ever have the pleasure in meeting. No matter the weather or circumstance, a large smile is always planted across her face, and she always seems to have endless energy to spare. Being with her may just even bring a spring to your dull step should you be having a particularly foul day.
Ahnka rarely lets anything get her down. She has learnt from experience that good and bad will happen regardless of what you do, and one should just go with life’s flow. She is constantly seeking out ways to keep herself active and moving about, and may come across as a hard worker who hardly takes a break. Actually, this is indeed true. If there is a task Ahnka fails at, she will stubbornly continue to work at it until she gets it right. She never feels depressed nor defeated, and she certainly does not consider her missing arm a disability. She’ll give you an earful if even the slightest hint of pity is shown.
She has an undying thirst to learn new things, and her pestering questions may get on others nerves. Affection and trust comes easily with her, but she is a loyal friend for life.
"The village where I am from is small and surrounded by the ocean. The wind is always strong and everything is always covered in salt, but no one minds. Everyone lives in peace, and everyone knows everyone. All the women stay on land while all the men go to sea. Almost everyone has a Father who is a fisherman, even me. Father is a quiet man, but his laugh can be heard throughout the entire village. He always picks me up and spins me around, and he always smells like fish and seawater. He taught me everything he knew about the Ocean, about the currents and its pulls, the plant life and the sea life, about its calmness and its anger. He said to fear the Ocean as much as you respect it.
I grew up always watching him in the water, but I was not able to join him. Women were not allowed to fish, it was too dangerous. Instead, I would help Mother in the rice fields every day. There were no other siblings to help her but me.
In our village, there is a scripture which everyone knows.
“In” is the start of all things, and “Ga” is their end. The older villagers often refer to the Ocean as ‘Inga’. It’s the start of all life and when that life ends, Inga takes it away.
Inga was always a constant presence in my life. I felt like it always watched over me, and watched over my Father as he worked. Mother and I would pray to it for his safe return every night. Though one day, a storm came to the village and Inga took him away.
Someone said they had never seen Inga so ferocious before. It was like mountains crashing down and shaking the land. Someone said the Gods in the sky kept throwing spears of light which made the air split in two. Someone said they saw Father going back for his friend. Someone even said they saw me swimming out as well, though I don't remember anything, so I just believe them.
Many Villagers lost many things that night, myself included. Though as “In” says, everyone began to rebuild and restart from the beginning. Though Mother could not forget what had happened. She feared Inga, and she soon came to hate it. In time, we both left the village and went to live in the mountains, far, far away from any water.
She forgot about Inga, but I could not. I knew everything about the Ocean, but the Ocean was all I knew. On my nineteenth birthday, I left the mountains and traveled to a place closer to my heart. I am at my calmest when I am in the water, and it brings me closer to my Father. When I find another village surrounded by it, I am going to swim every day, and then I am going to learn how to fish."

Dog/Cat’s name: (Possible future name : Snorri)
Talents // Funfacts:
- Has a surprising amount of strength for her small and thin stature. Can also run and swim exceedingly fast despite her lack of a limb. (perhaps its absence is the reason for her exercised strength.)
- Doesn’t let her misfortunes count as a handicap in any way, nor does she let it bother her. In fact, she often forgets she is even missing anything.
- She has constant ravenous appetite for fish, however her ridiculously high metabolism ensures she keeps her skinny waist.
- Can whistle incredibly loud.
- She is still learning how to read.
